Biography
Between north and mountains.
Ann Nielsen writes and sings about life’s bittersweet contradictions. Her music moves between singer-songwriter, indie folk and experimental colours – sometimes intimate and acoustic, sometimes denser and unexpected.
Her roots are in the north, her home is in the Swiss mountains. Both can be felt in the music: openness and grounding, clarity and melancholy.
Over the years, songs, recordings and collaborations have emerged in different places and with musicians from several countries. Since 2018, Ann has also been making music with tumasch è.

Voice, guitar, piano – and whatever a song needs.
The story is at the centre. Arrangements may be stripped back, but also surprising, playful and open to new forms.
